This is a website for those sharing my interest in certain events in April and May 1944 in Crete, and all that surrounds that time and place. My interest started in 1990 after a visit to Crete and a reading of Billy Moss's book Ill Met By Moonlight. I thought that the particular beach that Billy and his party landed in Crete may well have been one I and a few friends had found on our visit. I decided to try and find out more. Eighteen years on and whilst many questions have been answered, a few still evade for one reason or another - so I will keep digging away! This website, and its predecessor www.kastri.co.uk, has been the means through which many fellow Crete and SOE enthusiasts have made contact and through which information has been found and shared. One such contact, in 2003, led to a few of us getting together in Crete to carry out research on the ground in 2005 and again in 2008. I have been fortunate in having the support and encouragement of many throughout my research, not least Paddy Leigh Fermor and the late George Psychoundakis I hope you find the contents these of pages of interest.
