Houseman Files from HS/5/727 National Archives Kew

DSCF 5451

Note: Houseman writes above that it was in "Mid March"  that the "motor launch slid into one of the dark and bleak creeks on the Southern Crete coast". The date is incorrect, it was 4th April 1944. The operation to drop Houseman off, with some Cretans, was called Operation Moonstruck. At this time, (Nov 2007) it is my belief that Moss, together with Manolis Paterakis and George Tyrakis, effectively cadged a lift as their repeated attempts to get to Crete by air had resulted in failures.
